Following the single released only last Friday "Curtis (Do You Wanna Be A Star?)", Hamburg group Angels of Libra fronted by Nathan Johnston release their
debut self-titled album "Nathan Johnston & Angels Of Libra" on Friday (4 Nov 2022).
Nathan Johnston is an Irish singer/songwriter, producer and recording
artist from Mullingar, Ireland who performed using the alias Sion Hill
before leaving Ireland for Berlin and then Hamburg hooking up with ten piece
Hamburg outfit Angels Of Libra.
The album incudes all three singles released featuring Nathan Johnston,
their latest "Curtis (Do You Wanna Be Star?)" (Oct '22) "All Your Love" (Aug '22) and "Angel Of Libra" (Jun '22).
Most of the songs are in the in vogue retro late 60s/early 70s sweet soul style but "Curtis (Reprise)" starts off with a spoken intro before kicking into a funky instrumental straight out of a 70s Blaxploitation movie and then leads into the intro of "Curtis (Do You Wanna Be A Star?)" (and is my pick of the bunch of new material) along with another funky instrumental "Icarus".
