David Jonathan & The Inner City Bedlam describe
themselves as "a live array of different jazz inspired styles of music
that catalogues the 400 year anniversary of the Transatlantic Slave trade.
It displays the many different styles of music that African and Caribbean
peoples brought over in the journey to America. It overflows with tones of
social justice reform, love, happiness, and anger of a past that has yet
to be repaired."
They are fronted by Davin Jonathan Hulett (a jazz drummer known as
'Teaspoon' with jazz fusion band Gruvology) based in Buffalo, NY, and
emerged in 2020 and have released two singes prior to their first album
"400" released last week (29 Oct 2022)".
Most of the tracks are Gospel/Jazz with "Simple Love Song" being the standout being a smooth soulful jazz song which remind me a
little of The Isles "For The Love Of You".
