Dutch singer/songwriter saxophonist Candy Dulfer released the lead single "Jammin' Tonight" from her then forthcoming album "We Never Stop" on 26 Aug '22 (which features three time Grammy winner Nile Rodgers) and followed it on 7 Oct with "YeahYeahYeah".
The full album was released last Friday (28 Oct '22) and Rodgers also
features on another track "Convergency" (video below) with Marcus Miller guesting on "The Walls".
Boy wonder bassist, 11 year old Aron Hodek, (who has just released his debut EP "The Seed"), Durand Bernarr (who released his album "Wanderlust" at the end of Sep) and Philip Lassiter (who has worked with Tommy Sims who features on on Daryl Anders Agapesoul's latest EP "Heart Conditions") all feature on "Perspectives".
There are some very good tracks including, but not limited to, "Deeper", "Since I Found U" and "Afraid No More" which stand out most on an initial listen. The male singer on many of the tracks is Dutch singer Ivan Peroti.
Candy debuted on an album with Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) "Lily Was Here" in 1989 and has now racked up around eighteen albums and to look at her you would hardly guess that she has been performing for 35 years!.
As well as being Prince's 'go to' saxophonist, Candy has worked with
Van Morrison, Maceo Parker, Sheila E., Mavis Staples, Lionel Richie,
Beyoncé, Pink Floyd, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Angie Stone, Tower Of
Power and many others.
