Ex Crusader trombonist Wayne Henderson would have been celebrating his 83rd birthday today (he died in 2014 aged 74).
He co-founded The Jazz Crusaders in 1961, who later became just The Crusaders, leaving in 1976 to pursue a solo career.
One of his greatest tunes was "Dancing' Love Affair" in 1979 which featured (uncredited on the single) ex Dramatic Ron Banks on vocals. Unbelievably, it never even registered on the R&B chart!
