Four Below Zero were a New York group consisting of Dornell
Chavous, Moses McNeil, Cleveland Dickerson and Harry Watson. They are well
known in rare soul (and probably disco) circles for their 1976 dance record
"E.S.P." on Patrick Adams' P&P label. It was later released by Roulette
retitled "My Baby's Got E.S.P.".
However, prior to the release of "E.S.P.", in 1974 they released a smooth
70s deep soul ballad on the label "Tell Me Why (Can't We Be Friends)" which had a long (3:07) and short (2:25) version.
It has been digitally reissued today (20 Sep 2022) but the given timings
are different (3:28 and 1:38) with the shorter version labelled Pt. 2.
Checking YouTube clips many are 5:06 (3:28 + 1:38) so I would guess that
the timings shown on the original single may be incorrect.
