Active Force were an 80s group who released just one single
and one album on A&M in 1983. They were created by producer and
songwriter Michael Stokes who wrote and produced songs for Sussex acts such
as Bill Withers, Creative Source, Segments of Time and Faith, Hope
& Charity in the early 70s and then worked with Enchantment.
Their album appears to be highly sought after and has been reissued four
times. Current original vinyl copies for sale on Discogs are priced between
£80-£150. Therefore, you may be pleased that it has just been digitally
reissued with an additional track which is an extended version of their only
single "Give Me Your Love" which I vaguely remember from the early 80 as it was played in the
clubs.
I personally don't quite know why it is so sought after, probably by the
boogie/funk collectors as, apart from the single and the ballad "I Never Thought I'd Love Again" along with "My Sunshine", it's pretty mundane early 80s fodder.
The lead vocals on the ballad are shared between Adrina Steele (who later
did backing vocals on Shirley Jones "Always In The Mood" album) and Victor
Adams who released a solo album "Children Are Dying" in 1989.
