An odd name for a group is Say She She you may think but it's a deliberate play on Chic's sophomore 1978 album "C'est Chic" (the one that had "Le Freak" (#1 Hot 100 and R&B) and "I Want
Your Love" on).
Say She She are a group from Brooklyn, NYC, with a sound that's a nod to
late 70’s girl groups led by three female lead voices, Piya Malik (El
Michels Affair), Sabrina Mileo Cunningham and Nya Gazelle Brown and
includes former members of the Dap-Kings, The Extraordinaires and members of funk band Orgone.
The title track of their debut album "Prism" is the lead single released on 23 Aug 2022 with the full album due on 7
Oct 2022 via Colemine imprint Karma Chief.
Their debut single "Forget Me Not" from Feb 2022 is not on the album (nor are the three other singles released since) but a video for it is included
below. It reminds me of the sort of thing The Tom Tom Club (which included
Tina Weymouth & Chris Franz of Talking Heads) were doing in the early
80s with a hint of Blondie. From listening to the four singles, expect the album to be a bit of an eclectic mix, probably not one for the purists!

The track "Prism" is quite successful because it represents the atmosphere of all these super girl groups of the 70s.
