Received on promo from
LRK Records earlier this week (who are planning to release it on limited edition
7" vinyl but date TBC owing to pressing plant backlogs) but also
self-released digitally last Friday (19 Aug 2022) is a new single "Falling by the Wayside" from Gothenburg's Paul Mac Innes.
The 60s Motown inspired song (with distinct hints of the bassline to "You Can't Hurry Love") was written with producer Mattias
Axelsson pre-pandemic and put on hold but he has been singing it at live
performances and has now decided to release it as a single.
The single is available digitally on the main DSPs and also on
LRK Records bandcamp store
which I'd urge you to use rather than the main DSPs if you decide to
purchase to support independents.
Some endorsements Paul has received:
"Paul has one of those voices that is undeniable. A Soulful hug that
wraps the listeners ears and takes you with him where ever his voice
leads. I hope he gets the support that he deserves to take his music
around the world. There's a lot of things you can do today to make
people sound like they can sing, but when you hear the real thing
there's no comparison."
Justin Stanley - producer/engineer (Prince, Eric Clapton, Nikka
Costa, Jamie Lidell)
"If there is a lineage of soulful voices that runs from Otis Redding
through to Al Green and on to Terrence Trent Darby, then surely it would
be right to say that Paul Mac Innes and his warm and beautifully
textured voice is a powerful representative of that line."
