A 'Super Duper Remix' of "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)" from Marvin Gaye's seminal 1972 album "What's Going On". It strips it back and 'orchestralises' it and adds some beats. I'm not going to comment on my feelings about it and let you decide by including the original version.
There seems to be a batch of Motown classics remixed and released
today. So far, as well as this one, I've seen a couple of The Monitors songs and two by The Temptations.
By the way a 50th anniversary edition of the album this is from "What's
Going On" is released on double vinyl with the second disc containing mono
7" versions of "What’s Going On", "Mercy Mercy Me", "Inner City Blues",
"Holy Holy" the full length version of "God Is Love" and the non album B
side "Sad Tomorrow", along with stripped down, no strings/horns and
instrumental versions of "What’s Going On".

For a purist I think there can be no discussion!!! From what I heard, for me it's making money off the back of this God of Soul.
