J-Sol [2022] - Into the Covers, Vol. 5 (Clean) [Self Released]

Since Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak joined forces to form Silk Sonic last year and smashed onto the scene in Apr 2021 with the debut  single "Leave The Door Open", there have been literally dozens, if not scores, of cover versions of it. One of the latest is on the EP "Into The Covers, Vol. 5" by J-Sol.

Silk Sonic's original version currently has just shy of 900m streams on Spotify alone so, assuming the same on Amazon and Apple and not including other streaming services, that means, in theory, almost half of the world's population has listened to it, but of course many will have listened more than once but you get the point i.e. people like the song!

J-Sol is from East London and is a graduate of The Brit School (Croydon).He rose to prominence singing covers on YouTube which garnered praise from the likes of Nile Rodgers, Teddy Riley and Boyz II Men who he has supported on tour.

As the EP title suggests, its number five in a series of covers EPs/albums. On his soulful R&B flavoured version of "Leave The Door Open" he is joined by London singer Hari. I must admit that I'm not familiar with any of the other covers, although the final track is a medley of Usher songs.
