Emanuel Harrold (aka E-FM Emanuel Harrold Forward
Motion) is a multiple Grammy nominated and winning drummer currently
touring with Gregory Porter who has appeared on some of his well know
recordings such as "Water", "Be Good", "Liquid Spirit", "All Rise" and
"Still Rising".
He has a new four track EP "Funk La Soul" subtitled Vol. #1 suggesting that there is more to come. The
opening track "Brighter Days" features Grammy winning saxophonist Tivon Pennicott (also a Gregory
Porter band member) with Carlos Scooter Brown
(sax) &
Jahmal Nichols
(bass) featuring on "Best Part".
For the Allen Toussaint penned song "Yes We Can" (a hit for The Pointer Sisters in 1973) he drafts Brian Owens on vocals (another Grammy nominee). The EP closes with an
instrumental version of Denice Williams' 1977 #1 UK pop hit "Free" with saxophonist Carlos Scooter Brown.
Harold is from three generations of musicians from St. Louis, MO, and
has collaborated with many big name artists such as Stevie Wonder,
Gregory Porter, Jonathan Baptiste, Robert Glasper, De La Soul
and many more.
