In case you haven't yet listened to this weeks SoulAndJazzFlavas show from Steve Aggasild (who played this as one of his
three slow jam selections) then you are in for a treat. I know there will be those who will see
the artist name and simply skip on, but they will have missed out on this,
perhaps, little known gem.
The song, "Fly Like A Bird", was released on Mariah Carey's 2005 album "The Emancipation of Mimi"
and wasn't released as a single (except for some promo CDS' after the album
was released in early 2006) and hence it didn't fare too well on the charts, making this
probably not very well know except to die hard Mariah fans who probably
wouldn't have appreciated this particular gospel flavoured song by her.
The song was written by Sounds Of Blackness member James 'Big Jim' Wright who
was also a member of Jimmy Jam Harris and Terry Lewis' Flyte Time Productions.
Now get yourself over to Steve's latest SoulAndJazzFlavas podcast to see what else you are
missing out on!
