Bailey (Hyneman) is from Memphis, TN, and studied Voice at
Berklee College of Music. She has made, what appears to be, a debut
release, a five track EP "Again -, Vol. 1", on 23 May 2022.
It seems that some have picked up on the track "Chasing (Keep On)" but this is a very good EP throughout, and for me the title track "Again" and "Otherside" are equally as good as, if not better than, "Chasing (Keep On)".
Bailey came to the attention of Mac Gayden around 2014 who took her under his wing as many were trying to persuade her to sing Country music. Gayden, as anoraks will know, wrote "Everlasting Love" with Buzz Cason originally recorded by Robert Knight in 1967, London group Love Affair covered it and had a UK #1 pop hit with it in 1968.
Robert Knight is otherwise know to Northern Soulies for "Love On A Mountain Top" (also written by Gayden & Cason), originally a B side of "Power Of Love" in 1968, but was reissued in the UK in 1973 owing to NS demand and reached #10 on the UK pop chart spending sixteen weeks on the chart, ten of them in the top 20.
Gayden is also known to the rare soul lovers for many other singles including The Fabulettes "Screamin' And Shoutin'" also recorded by Charlie McCoy And The Escorts along with "My Baby’s Back Again", Herbert Hunter "I Was Born To Love You", Clifford Curry "I Can't Get A Hold Of Myself " (along with several other songs recorded by him). Bobbi Lynn "Earthquake", The Valentines "Breakaway" and "Gotta Get Yourself Together", Joe Simon "When", James & Bobby Purify "Morning Glory" and a few others from Robert Knight including "Branded" and many others.
