The
Meli'sa Morgan post
of an Ashford & Simpson song reminded me of another cover of one of
their songs received just before I went away (2 Apr 2022) which got
'buried'.
It's from Jo Harman featuring in demand session musician Mike Mayfield
(Jessie J, Rita Ora & Emeli Sande) with their rendition of "You're All I Need To Get By", another originally recorded by Marvin Gaye & Tammi
Terrell in 1968.
Jo was born in Luton and grew up in Devon. There must be something in the
water down there in the west country as a couple of other female UK
blue-eyed soul singers, namely Joss Stone and Joanna Cooke, are also both
from that neck of the woods.
She self-released her debut album "Live At The Hideaway" in 2011 prior to
her first studio album "Dirt On My Tongue" in 2013.
