A new release from Liam Kenney's LRK Records is due digitally on 31 Mar
2020 with vinyl 7"s expected in summer.
The HP's are a Hamilton (Ontario, Canada) based funk /
soul collective and the brainchild drummer of 'Parkside' Mike Renaud
who also owns Hidden Pony Records & Management. They have a
forthcoming debut album "Gritty City Soul, Vol. 1" which is a collection of covers and original compositions inspired
by James Brown and Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings. The album is named
after their home town Hamilton (i.e. Gritty City).
Their latest single "Hope To See You Again" features another Canadian artist, Claire Davis from
Toronto, who featured here first back in Jun 2021 with "Thrive EP" and who has already released a single on LRK
"Thrive" / "Playground"
.
The HP's released their debut single "The HP Trot (Blow Maceo)" in January
2022 (included below).
