Billed as The Bump Band Feat. Bump Funk, Bump Funk is in fact Jerald Scott who led several bands in and around
Kansas City from the 60s to the 80s. i.e. Bump & The Soul Stompers,
Unnatural Funk Band, The Bump Band and Bad News Band.
The band consisted of Jerald 'Bump' Scott (keyboards), Robert 'Snookie' Clarkson (guitar), Robert Kelly (bass), Herman 'Hammer'
Lacy (drums), Terry 'Grim' Grimmett (sax) and Wanda Byrd (vocals along with
all band members).
They recorded "Our Music" in 1983 which was never released. The tapes got lost but were
discovered in Bump's attic and his son Jeremy passed them to
Lotuspool Records
who digitally remastered the damaged analogue tapes.
In amongst the funk tracks are a couple of sweet soul ballads "Living In The Past" and "Love's Gently Flowing".
In 2013 Numero Group released a couple of singles involving Jerald
Scott,
Unnatural Funk Band
"Strange Happenings" / "Living In The Past" and Bump And The Soul Stompers, "I Can Remember" / "Standing On The Outside".
