One of the best tunes of the year so far, and probably the best to come out
of Big AC, is "So Pure" by Phono 48. I wasn't aware that it had been released digitally as assumed that it was
12" vinyl only but it slipped out digitally on the same day (18 Feb 2022).
It was originally
posted from promo
on 8 Feb.
The song was written and recorded in just 48 hours by a group of six
musicians who had met for the first time. On 2 Mar Big AC posted this
video of the song's making with this statement:
"On 3rd and 4th August 2021, 6 musicians came together for the first time,
to create an original piece of music. This film reflects the two day
writing and recording session, elements of the subsequent mixing and
mastering at Durham Sound Studios and The Exchange, together with
vignettes of the musicians filmed around London.
The musicians are Amané Suganami, Andre Laville, Kitty Liv Durham, Lewis
Durham, Nick Corbin and Solomon Douglas. They named the collective Phono
48 and entitled their composition 'So Pure'"
