Larry Sanders [1971] - Where Did Peace Go [Sound Of Soul #SOS 200]

A bit of self-indulgence with this one as it has to be one of my favourite deep soul tunes by Larry Sanders "Where Did Peace Go" but is very appropriate for current times.

Larry Sanders (Saunders) known as The Prophet of Soul is the estranged biological  father of Ledisi (Ledisi Anibade Young) and son of blues man Johnny Ace. He also recorded using the aliases Frankie Saunders, Frankie L. Saunders.

His Discography was posted this time last year if you wish to learn more about him. He is best known and loved in rare soul circles for his 1974 recording "On The Real Side" and also for writing Debbie Taylor's "All That We Have".

Sound Of Soul was a label based in Richmond VA owned by  Alexander Randolph aka Dickie Wonder aka Mr Wiggles who wrote this song using the alias Dickie Diamond and also produced the "Free Angela" album. Angela Davis was a political activist arrested and held in jail for a year before being acquitted of all charges in 1972.

  1. Excellent deep soul indeed and his album "Stranger" deserves a listen.
