This new single marks the return of soul and gospel singer
Freddie Lee (Peterkin) from Pahokee, FL, after a 10-year hiatus from the
music scene.
He has a new sound and direction with a soul jazz stepper "Freedom" which
has caused a storm on social media with its
mini movie music video, filmed in London.
Freddie Lee made his mark in 2008 to 2010 with the crossover Gospel Soul
album "Beyond Comprehension" which led to a career TV, film and
theatre.
Freedom began as a melodic and instrumental idea created by Dana Meyers
(hit songwriter for Shalamar, The Whispers, Glen Jones) and the late Kevin
Johnson of the group Slave. Freddie Lee added lyrics and his signature
harmony arrangements along with Jessie Tsang. 5am productions aka Tony
Bean and Colin Basset have given this track track a real contemporary Gamble
and Huff flavour with a touch of jazz.
It is released on Renegade Soul Records and will be available (soon TBC) on all
good digital platforms.
