A new single from Industry Music Group by
Eddie & The Valiants is due for release on 4 Mar 2022
both digitally and on 7" vinyl.
Both sides are retro 60s sounds set around the 60 bpm mark targeted at the lowrider market. "Please Come Home" is typical lowrider fare with."My Dear" being an earlier doo-wop style ballad. I'm not sure whether they are
original songs, or more likely covers given that "Please Come Home" was
written by Henry Garcia (The Cheaters)? In fact I managed to find a YouTube
clip of the song recorded by The Cheaters.
The group are from are from San Antonio, TX, and consist of Eddie
(Eduardo 'DJ Plata' Hernandez) joined by Thomas David Dyer (organ),
Johnny Hernandez (drums), George Lara (bass) , Steve Sanchez (guitar), Rogelio Escobar (sax), trumpeter Rudy
Estrada (trumpet), Daniel Klein (trombone) with singers Nathan Alvarado, Gil
Cuellar and Joaquin Muerte Abrego.
They are essentially a tribute band reliving the south Texas soul sound of
the 60s recorded by the likes of The Commands, Sunny & The Sunliners and
The Royal Jesters.
