Ciyo Brown [2022] - Can We Pretend [Ciyo Groove Music] (Full Album)

Ciyo Brown is a London based, Jamaican-born, internationally acclaimed guitarist, singer, composer and musical director but may not be a name that trips off the tongue but when you discover the vast array of big name artists that he has worked with you may begin to wonder why.

Paul Weller, Annie Lennox, Ronnie Laws, Billie Paul, Mica Paris, Soul II Soul, Carleen Anderson, Loose Ends, Glen Jones, Shirley Jones, Jean Carn, Omar, Hil St. soul, Tony Momrelle, Meli’sa Morgan, Melba Moore, Ann Nesby, Sounds of Blackness,  Ruby Turner, Suggs, (Madness), YolanDa Brown, Sugar Minott, Pee Wee Ellis, Sly and Robbie, Steel Pulse, Aswad, Carroll Thompson and Freddie McGregor, to name but a few!

Ciyo describes his forthcoming seventh album, "Can We Pretend", as a "Vocal Excursions with a Tinge of Guitar!" and represents his vocal exploration of original material and songs taken from the soul, jazz, reggae, and pop genres.

A couple of tracks have been previously released as singles on Bandcamp (only as far as I can ascertain). The title track, Bill Withers' ("+'Justments" (1974)), "Can We Pretend" (Jul 2021) and "Again (Groove Mix)" (17 Jan 2022) (a standard first recorded in 1948 by Vera Lynn!), both of which have been remixed for the album.

He will be launching the album at Pizza Express Jazz Club (Soho, London) on 22 Mar 2022 and  Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club on 24 Apr 2022.
