Another of Friday's releases and the first from 79 year old Freda Payne
since the MOR/Jazz EP "Let There Be Love" last year.
The new single is "Just To Be With You", a song written by Anissa Boudjaoui (aka Aneessa) and Michael B. Sutton and originally
recorded by Aneessa two years ago (28 Feb 2020) and released on
Sutton's The Sound of L.A. label. (also posted below)
Not only does Freda have this new single released, but Expansion has also scheduled the first
vinyl 7" release of her modern soul / two-step classic "Tell Me Please" which appeared on her 1978 album "Supernatural High" and is due in March 2022. The song was written by Skip Scarborough who
also produced, arranged and performed keyboards on the album The flip side
will be her 1977 single "I Get High (On Your Memory)" written by prolific Motown writer Pam Sawyer and the recently deceased
Marilyn McLeod.
