Esperanto were a Venezuelan jazz fusion band led by main
writer Jorges Aguilar who released just two albums. Their first,
self-titled, album from 1980 has already been reissued by Paris based
label Favorite Recordings in 2021. Their second album "Vegas", from 1981, received a reissue from the label yesterday (31 Jan 2022) on vinyl and
digital.
I have to say it's a very nice album as I've had it playing in the
background whilst doing other things. I particularly like "Kenny's Place". A couple of tracks seem to give a nod to earlier classics i.e. the intro to "Love Crusader" starts off like Tom Browne's "Funkin' For Jamaica" and the last track "Theme From Vegas" has hints of George Duke's Brazilian Love Affair as it commences.
UPDATE 4 Feb 2022: It is now available on all DSP's and on Spotify HERE.
