Garry Cape's Hit And Run Records has just released (22 Jan 2022) two new singles on vinyl. One is a four tracker by Delegates of Soul and the other is this sweet soul harmony / lowrider gem by The Symphonies from 1970 which is apparently the rarest record on the Carnival label on a cat. no. (#546) previously thought to have not existed.
"That's What Love Will Do" was written, according to Discogs, by Ronald McCoy of The
Topics, however John Manship calls it as prolific songwriter Rose Marie McCoy (in YT clip below) but in this instance he is mistaken as the song is registered to Ronald McCoy (Sanavan Music) on BMI.
"Need Someone To Love" was written by Winfred Lorenzo Lovett aka Blue
Lovett of The Manhattans who also wrote their million selling #1 hit "Kiss And Say Goodbye" in 1976 as well as many other songs for the group. It was previously released on Carnival 543 in 1969 with the flip side being Maurice Simon And The Pie Men "The Git Go" and is the only other release by the group.
If you want to save yourself almost one and a half grand (as there is (only) one currently for sale on Discogs for that price) then get your order in to Garry via paypal hitandrunsoul45@gmail.com for a mere £12 plus £3 postage.
