Dennis Taylor [2021] - Love No Longer Has A Hold On Me / I Can't Forget About You [SoulTownie #109]

A forthcoming new single from blue-eyed soulster Dennis Taylor from Boston. The A side is a cover of Johnny Bristol's modern soul tune 'Love No Longer Has A Hold On Me' from 1980 and the B side covers Ronn Mattlock's 'I Can't Forget About You' which was on the 1979 album 'Love City' only until reissued in UK by Expansion in 2016.

Available to pre-order from BandCamp or eBay, (due 8 Mar in US and 15 Mar UK) but be quick as according to their facebook page there are only 50 left (only 300 pressed).

Gemia Burns [2021] - When I Think Of You [UniGlobal]

Another new entry into this week's UK Soul chart. It sounds a bit 'lightweight' (although admittedly catchy) pop/soul/jazz tune to these ears I'm afraid. 

I thought at first it may have been a cover of Janet Jackson's hit, but it isn't, although there do seem to be similarities in the chorus.

BFlyLadyDi [2021] - Live Life To The Fullest [Vincent Broomfield]

Released 30 Jan 2021, this one passed me by (I wonder why?). It's the fifth single from the blue-eyed singer, originally from New Brunswick, NJ, but now resides in Coral Springs, FL. 

It's a soul/jazz tune written and produced by Vince Broomfield (of Audio) and has entered this week's UK Soul chart at #25.

Angel Sessions [2021] - The L-O-V-E [Atlas Elite]

Angel Sessions was signed to Ichiban in 1998 and recorded around four secular albums before turning to gospel music in 2005. To date she has recorded 18 albums.

In 2020 she released a cover version of Janet Jackson's 'Let's Wait A While'.

Her latest single 'The L-O-V-E' was released 26 Feb 2021.

Carmyn [2021] - Love, Carmyn [CV] (Full EP)

A 5 track EP 'Love, Carmyn' (which I think may be her debut) was released 14 Feb 2021 by Carmyn (Johnson).  There's a few nice tracks on there which are probably best described as soulful R&B (i.e not 'pure' soul but soulful). 

I also think it's self-released (CV) as her facebook name is Carmyn Victoria (CV) Johnson which also says she's from North Carolina.

The 2 best tracks, for me, are 'Feelin' Myself' and 'Best I Can'. I don't know if it's intentonal or just a 'blip', but the sound on 'Damage' is pretty low.

The Intuitions [2021] - Fools Gold / Pastel [Love Soul Productions #LSP-02/03]

Another new lowrider release which is still available for pre-order (on BandCamp) and due for shipping around 5 May 2021. It comes from The Intuitions 'Fools Gold' c/w 'Pastel' on Love Soul Productions.

The Intuitions are Kendall Coyer (lead vocals), Kyle "Rev'd" Davis (piano, organ, rhodes, vibraphone), Kent Soliven (Bass, Drums) and Adam Valenzuela (rhythm/lead guitar, bg vocals).

Both songs were written and produced by Adam Valenzuela and features Eric Johnson (Flute, Alto Sax) on both songs and Joey Quińones (Bari Sax), Luis Carpii & Stevie Fontaine (backing vocals) on 'Fools Gold'.

Nira [2021] - Ooh Baby (Say You Love Me Too) [SOLA #SMG-002]

A solo single from Nira, the lead singer with Thee Illusions which follows their debut 'I Know We're In Love' also released on SOLA, but they also released another 45 on Black Bird in Jan 2021 posted here. 

The Nira single was released on 7" vinyl only on 10 Feb 2021 but has already sold out, so you'll have to find one on the re-sale market unless there are dealers who still have unsold copies. There's one currently available on Discogs.

Matthew Randall [2021] - Say Yes

Matthew Randall released a 6 track EP 'M.R. Productions' on 24 Feb 2021. It contains a couple of ballads, but the remainder is R&B/hip-hop. 'Say Yes' is an outstanding deep soul ballad featured here.

I can find no further info on him, so would guess that this may be his debut?
