The Brothers By Choice only, self-titled, album from 1978
has been reissued digitally on 26 Nov 2021. They are well know in modern
soul circles for their 1978 single "She Puts The Ease Back Into Easy".
A funny story, I bought, what I thought was, the single at a weekender
many years ago without doing my homework and when I got it home to play it
realised that it was the instrumental version (didn't state that on the
label!). What a disappointment, although all was not lost as it has a good
version of the Ambrosia hit "How Much I Feel" on the flip side which isn't on the original album but is included in
the digital reissue and the CD reissue from 2014. I think I now prefer it
to "Easy". The song was written by the Ambrosia's guitarist David Pack and reached #3 on Hot 100 in
1978. It was
covered by UK duo Alibi (Kye and Jud Mahoney) in 1998 reaching #53 on UK pop chart.
Brothers By Choice were a group from L.A. who released six singles
between 1975-80. Prior to that they were called
The Gliders who released three singles on three different
labels between 1972-78 and also released a single on yet another label as
Fire And Fury in 1977.
