A couple of sweet soul lowriders have just been released on Mike
Noriega's Noriega label both digitally and on
vinyl. Ron Crowder & The Rolas
"Don't Ever Break My Heart" and "Tonight's The Nite".
Assuming it's the same Ron Crowder, he wrote a few songs in the 70s
recorded by Lonette McKee and Bobby Glenn and a previously unreleased bonus
track on a reissue of Stephanie Mills' 1975 debut album and another in the
80s for Sly, Slick & Wicked.
In fact Sly, Slick & Wicked recorded
"Tonight's The Nite" on Bad Boy Records in 1981 (included below) on which Ron Crower features along with Sunny Daye (aka Thomas Hawkins).
