My immediate thoughts after seeing the title "Ain't No Half Steppin" was that it may be a cover of Heatwave's 1976 hit of the same name
written by Rod Temperton (who contributed to Michael Jackson's "Off The
Wall" and "Thriller" albums), but it's an original song with a funky gospel/jazz vibe.
Cynthia Jones (aka Etheridge) is from Raleigh, SC, and if it's the same
artist (it certainly looks like her), has a single dated 1979 on Discogs and
a few albums from the noughties and has more recently released a gospel
album. In 2018 she released her last single "God's Got Me" which is a
pleasant soulful gospel ballad.
There are some good tracks on her 2008 album "Gotta Soul" e.g. "If" and the
title track (video below).
She has a website relating to life coaching.
