The Paradise Projex is a music project run by,
songwriter, musician and music director Phil Edwards and joins musician
and producer Karlos Edwards for this brand new entity made of some
friends new and old. Paul Johnson features on “Feels Like Home”
It will be available on 12" vinyl but owing to the delays in pressing the limited edition 4 track vinyl EP,
Expansion are offering 2 of the tracks exclusively for download on
BandCamp for 2 weeks only. There are no previews available on BandCamp so I've embedded samples from Juno for now as the EP is not available until 29
Oct 2021.
Track List:
Feels Like Home
For This Love
One Mind, Two Hearts
With You
I noticed that one of the songs is a cover of UK band Paradise's 1983 hit (#42 UK Pop Chart) "One Mind, Two Hearts", which I've posted for any unfamiliar with it.
Paradise's line up at that time included Paul Johnson prior to his solo success in the
late 80s.
Looking further into it, I realised that Phil and Karlos Edwards were original members of Paradise, so assume that this is a comeback?
As you can see from the comments below, I received a message from Phil Edwards who wishes to clarify that The Paradise Projex is not a reincarnation of Paradise and that whilst Paul Jonson features on "Feels Like Home" he is unlikely to feature of the forthcoming full album, it will feature a single, as yet, unspecified vocalist. Please read his full comment.

HI Mark, Its Phil from The Paradise Projex, thank you for you review and kind words. It might take a while for folks to understand that this is not Paradise nor is it intended to be so, "One Mind Two Hearts" is definitely a cover, not a re-work as a re-work would imply the entity is still in existence in some form or other but that’s not the case. I may drop “Paradise" from the name and just call it “The Projex” but it will become clearer a bit later once the "album" is completed. It will show that The Projex is a stand-alone entity. Further to this is "Feels Like Home" and the EP is probably the only time that Paul may appear on this project. There’s only going to be one offiical featured artist on the album and that has not been decided just yet.
ReplyDeleteThere is such more to come and this is the start of the Projex and there's loads of material, co-labs etc to organise and record. Its exciting, creative and as our mission says The Paradise Projex is simply music made with friends old and new. It’s a passion of the past, present and future. It’s a place to create.
Regards
Phil Edwards
