'Mop up Monday' is when I mop up the stragglers of the weekend's
releases, those that I've missed or didn't feel were urgent enough to
post, so there will be some good, not so good and indifferent
tracks.
"Heaven On Earth" is a debut release from a collaboration of three artists (Linden Jay, Owen Cutts and Phil Simmonds) and features Zimbabwe born
KWAYE on vocals. They call themselves The Carpet Shop.
This is how they describe themselves on their Spotify profile:
"The Carpet Shop is a studio hidden in the basement of a carpet shop in
North West London. Shared by three of London’s most prodigious producers
- Linden Jay, Owen Cutts and Phil Simmonds - it’s an Aladdin’s cave of
exotic instruments, retro synthesizers and esoteric studio gear. In and
amongst the trails of studio cables and dimly lit lamp shades is a cozy
space where artists and collaborators come and feel comfortable opening
up. A close-knit community of like-minded creatives has emerged around
The Carpet Shop and on any given day incredible musicianship and
artistry is flourishing within the walls of this tucked away gem.
Despite working together across numerous projects with each other,
Heaven on Earth is the first time the three impresarios have
intentionally come together to create their own collective project,
aptly named after their studio."
