Kirby (Lauryen) is Memphis born and Southaven,
Mississippi bred and calls herself the 'Granddaughter of Soul" and claims
that, rather than a singer/songwriter, she is a song therapist stating
that "I sing and I write to help people heal. One note at a time."
She is a graduate of Berklee College Of Music and built her career by
writing a song a day on YouTube for 275 consecutive days. She has written
songs recorded by Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Toni Braxton, John Legend, Rihanna, Ariana Grande,
Kanye West & Paul McCartney (how satisfying must that be having a
couple of songs you've written being sung by one of the great
songwriters?)
Her latest single (released 12 Aug 2021) is "Break A Heart For Me" and includes "Boyz II Men" also
released as a single in April, which I prefer of the two.
