Hiatus Kaiyote were last featured here with their single "Get Sun" back in March. If you've not come across them before, they are an
alternative soul collective from Melbourne who debuted with an album "Tawk Tomahawk" in 2012 which they followed up in 2015 with
"Choose Your Weapon".
They have gone on to win various international
awards and were nominated for Best R&B Performance at the 2013 Grammys
(the first Australian group be nominated) for "Nakamarra" from their debut album and again for "Breathing Underwater" from "Choose Your Weapon".
Their 'meteoric' trajectory was interrupted by lead singer Naomi 'Nai Palm' Saalfield's diagnosis with breast cancer, so their latest album, "Mood Valiant", has been four years in the making whilst she has been recovering.
The five song Tiny Desk Concert set (from yesterday 4 Aug 2021) features tracks from their latest album "Mood Valiant"
released on 25 June 2021:
"Sip Into Something Soft"
"Rose Water"
"And We Go Gentle"
"Get Sun"
"Blood And Marrow"
