It was a pleasant surprise stumbling across this album which
turned up on Amazon last night from apparently nowhere, but I think some
jazz stations may have been playing tracks from it. I discovered that there is also a "Time Capsule Vol 1", which was released in 2018.
I had no idea who Funkee Boy was until I found his facebook and he writes:
"Smooth Jazz Recording Artist, Keyboardist, Songwriter/Producer
Bobbi "Funkee Boy" Tammaro. Works with songwriters, musicians, lyricists, major and indie
artists, Television & Film Music Supervisors, Music Publishers,
Record Labels, etc."
Time Capsule Vol. 2 is his sixth CD. I found an entry for him on Discogs where he wrote, arranged, produced and
played keys on a record by Inner City Groove in 1988, so he's been around a
few years! I also found a bio for him on
Jazz Music Archives. and there is also details on his website (link below).
There are some really good old school / modern soul tracks on the album
with, largely unknown, guest artists on most of the tracks. There are too many to
list, but the first seven tracks are pretty good (with "Waiting For You" featuring Leila probably being the top track). I'm not so keen an the
last four.
As is often the case, Spotify doesn't list the featured artists, so click on album cover image for full track listing.
