The 'elusive' David Scott who I can find nothing about as
there are several artists with the same (fairly common) name and his music
is conflated on all DSP's with several other artists of the same
name.
He had a big tune in the UK back in April with a two sided single titled
"Still R&B" which included "You Don't Have To Be Hard" and "Stepp", with the former getting most attention.
Today (18 Aug 2021) he has released a six track EP "Bumpy Nights" which contains "You Don't Have To Be Hard" (still the standout track) but not
"Stepp".
I would guess he is an older artist from his voice, so has possibly
released other material or was a member of a group. I did a bit of digging
in April when I posted the last release and perhaps narrowed him down to
Cincinnati based on the record label, but could be barking up the wrong
tree.
