A friend has just put me onto this YT clip posted in Jan 2021. It's an
acoustic, modern, unreleased live take by Joseph Solomon of a song
released by Ray Charles on ABC Paramount. Charles had a #2 Hot 100 hit
with it in 1962, following up his #1 hit "I Can't Stop Loving You", and it
was featured in the 2004 biopic "Ray".
The song was written by Cindy Walker in 1955 and recorded first be Eddy
Arnold in 1955 as a country song. A few others recorded it before Charles
in 1962, Jerry Vale in 1956 and Lenny Welch in 1960.
Joseph Solomon is from Atlanta and has released three singles since 2018
and a seven track EP "Find Me" last year, which contains all three
singles. He has 0.5m subscribers to his YT channel where there are
loads of alternative covers which he has chosen not to put on
Spotify.
I've included the Ray Charles version below to show how well Solomon's updated it.
