Janette King released her debut album "What We Lost" yesterday (25 Jun
2021). Three tracks have already been drip-fed from the album as singles
prior to release. The best of them being
"You Don't Love Me"
posted in May, the others are "Ooh Yeah" (R&B oriented) and "Cool Me
Down" (which has long rap sections).
Nothing else really strikes me on the remainder of the album except
"Right Here". The album comes across as a bit 'confused' as to what direction it's
going, i.e. is it soul, R&B, hip-hop, electronica?
Rather disappointing from a soul perspective,
as after "You Don't Love Me" (which I featured in The Dirty Dozen") I
thought there might be a least a few decent tracks on the album, but looking at the positive, the album probably isn't targeted at our audience so we should consider the two decent tracks a bonus!
