Retro soul singer from Toronto, Claire Davis, releases a debut five
track EP on 16 Jul 2021.  She's already released two singles this year, "Playground" in Apr. and "Heartbreak"
in Feb. Both singles appear on the EP which was recorded in analogue to
tape to try and achieve an authentic retro sound.
The other tracks are "Can't Move On" and "What's Done Is Done", both southern country/soul style ballads, and the title track "Thrive",
probably the best track on the EP, which is a neo/retro mid pacer in a
similar vein to Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings.
Last year she released two singles, both covers, "Chained", written
by Frank Wilson and recorded by Marvin Gaye in 1968 as the single before
"Heard It Through The Grapevine" and "Vacuum", a funky Isley Brothers
        song released in 1971.

She is lead singer of seven-piece Toronto funk outfit "YUKA" who she
recorded two albums with. They have opened for several artists including
Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and Lee Fields & The
Expressions and Claire has performed with Martha Reeves & The Vandellas.
