Their Spotify profile reads: "Sons Of The James is a duo project between
singer/songwriter Rob Milton and producer/musician DJ Harrison, recorded
in Richmond, Virginia, and inspired by a blend of classic Gospel music and
the Soulquarians era R&B/Soul", so there you have it in a
nutshell.
This track is a cover of Stevie Wonder's song from 'Songs In The Key Of
Life' from 1976. It will be their fourth release since the project was
started last year.
Whilst we're here I may as well include Phil Perry's tremendous soul/jazz
version from his most recent album 'Breathless' (2017). Surely Phil Perry
must be one of the most overlooked 'real' soul artists by all but the
ardent of soul listeners. He has one of the most incredible voices in soul
music and is a very sought after session vocalist and is well overdue
wider recognition. He's been featured several times on he blog, search for
Phil Perry and/or The Montclairs.
