The new album from Conya Doss 'Through Rose-Colored Glasses' is due on 13
Jun 2021 which coincides with her 48th birthday. It will be her ninth
studio album since her debut 'A Poem About Conya Doss' in 2002 and her
first since 'Clear' in 2018.
The only tracks currently available are 'Wishful Thinking' Featuring B.
(Bryan) Golden which was released in March (posted 14 Mar 2021) and 'Happy Valley' released in Jan on an EP '6019' with OsKeyz (posted 13 Jan 2021).
I've heard a couple of other tracks from it, on Steve Aggasild's show
on Monday, and it sounds promising, so keep a look out for it.
Conya Doss is from Cleveland, OH, and began in a duo called Lyrik with
Stacy Richardson-Crawford who has sang backing vocals for artists such as
Ali-Ollie Woodson, Phil Perry, Gerald Levert and Anthony Hamilton. Around
2011 Stacy went solo and recorded as
Sarah's Girl releasing an album called
'All About Me' and a single from it called
'Tonight'.
After the duo split Conya went solo, and independent, releasing all her
material on her own label Conya Doss Songs.
Whilst we await its release you can refresh your memory of (or discover)
her catalogue.
