Rita Ray [2021] - Love Ain't The Same [Funk Embassy]

Blue-eyed Estonian soul from Rita Ray. I heard her debut album (released in Nov 2019) and raved on it at the time so will add a link to it.  Don't 'sleep' on it as it is a tremendous album.

This is her first release (12 Mar 2021) since that album, having released two singles from it ('Fool For Loving You' & 'Lover Man') prior to the release of the album.

This is going straight into 'The Dirty Dozen' pile this week as quality always surfaces to the top!  A wonderfully soulful retro tune.  Her voice is incredible, ranging from sutry and smokey to sweet and melodic on a well crafted song. Easily one of the best tunes of the year so far with a cool vintage/retro video to go with it driving, what looks like, a 1970s Lincoln Continental Coupe (Mark IV as a guess) and inserting an 8 track cartridge!

Listen to Full Album 'Old Love Will Rust' released 15 Nov 2019 here.

Here's a few tracks from her debut album 'Old Love Will Rust' to give you a flavour of what to expect. I hope you'll agree that each one is exceptional and she wrote, composed, arranged and produced the whole album herself.  I certainly hope there is a new album in the offing!

Little Girl (Live)

Fool For Loving You

Oh Honey (Live)

How Much Can A Small Heart Take? (Live)

Old Love Will Rust (Live)

Disco Stu (Live)
