Don Thomas [1973] - Train Keep Moving [Cal State #CS-3202]

A tune that has been gaining popularity on the Sunday Soul Scene is another flip side to a Northern Soul classic (Don Thomas' 'Come On Train') sounding very similar to Brook Benton's 'Rainy Night In Georgia'.  In fact when I first heard it played by Johnny Manship I wandered over the the decks to see if it was Brook Benton. As a result of exposure it has subsequently more than doubled in price.

It was released twice, as the flip to 'Come On Train' as 'Train Keep Movin'' on NUVJ and again on Cal State as 'Train Keep Moving'. They were both released in 1973 but don't know which came first.

This one is difficult to categorise as it dosen't really fit in any of the normal 'pigeon holes' as it's not deep, northern, crossover or modern or even a lowrider in the true sense. Just accept it for what it is, a quality soul tune.
