Kenny Gamble is 80 today

Starpoint Radio's Mike Prior has just given us a nudge about it being Kenny Gamble's 80th birthday today. We did a Kenny Gamble Tribute last year for his 79th and Starpoint's Gary Van Den Bussche dedicated his two hour show to his music and we also posted a podcast of the show so we will point you in that direction.

He, of course as if you didn't already know, is one half of the legendary pair who created Philadelphia International Records with Leon Huff who was 81 in April. For more information and the podcast visit the link above.

Danny Losito & SLAMTWISTED [2023] - Can't Hide Love [Irma Records]

Just when you though that you didn't need another version of "Can't Hide Love" (originally recorded by Creative Source but made famous via EWF) another crops up. Irma Record indicates that it's out of Italy.

Italian DJ/producer, singer Danny Losito has been around the block, making his first appearance in 1990 as a member of Double Dee.

He is assisted on this production by SLAMTWISTED who is Italian DJ/musician Umby Bebbo (Umberto Behboudi) who we featured a single, "Wazzup", from in June, also on Irma.

Shaila Prospere [2023] - Dance All Night [Self Released]

A song that has been getting plenty of spins from promo for the last few weeks is "Dance All Night" by Shaila Prospere, which gets an official release, previously only available from her website.

The title and the artwork leave little to the imagination as to what it's going to be!

Natasha Watts [2023] - I Am Me (Atjazz Remixes) [Atjazz Record Company]

The promised Ajazz Remixes of the lead lead single, "I am Me", from Natasha Watts' her very well received album "Music Is My Life", are out today.

Atjazz is DJ/remixer, producer Martin Iveson who runs Ajjazz Record Company from Derby. For this remix he's drafted in Ben Hawson to add some Saxophone touches. The song has a completely different feel to the original with the tempo upped from 100 to 112 BPM with broken beats.

Released today is the new single "Let's Celebrate" from Tanya Nolan, co-written with Raheem DeVaughn, it has a throwback 90s new jack swing feel.

Her first single of 2023, "Pace Yourself", featured DeVaughn.
