IV Jay [2022] - Good Karma [Atlantic]

IV Jay (presumably Ivy although her real name is Jaylynn or is it four as in roman numerals IV?) is from New Jersey, of Puerto Rican, Dominican and Colombian descent, and was signed to Atlantic Records in 2018 aged 18 after going viral on social media with cover songs.

She released her latest single "Good Karma" on 25 May 2022.

Ethel [2022] - Andromeda [Orange Soda]

Here's one that slipped by on 6 May 2020 from Ethel (Ghrenassia) with "Andomeda". It's her fourth single since 2020. I can find little information on her but given that the tiles and vocals in her other singles are in French I would assume that she's French or maybe French-Canadian although the surname hints at Algerian?

Jonathan Jeremiah [2022] - Lucky / Horsepower For The Streets [PIAS Recordings]

I could have sworn I'd previously posted some music from Jonathan Jeremiah, but apparently not. However, I did note his last single "Horsepower For The Streets" released a few weeks ago (4 May) and he has now bundled it with his latest offering "Lucky" released on Friday (10 Jun 2022).

The cover artwork is identical (only different colours) which suggest to me that an EP/album is in the pipeline to add to the four albums already released since 2011 (five if you include a promo only album "Happiness" from 2009). Further digging reveals that, indeed, an album is in the offing titled "Horsepower For The Streets" due on 9 Sep 2022.

Jonathan Jeremiah is a blue-eyed, folk tinged, soul singer (hints of Bill Withers) from North London who emerged in 2009.

Brettina [2022] - Spell [Lincoln Avenue Enterprises]

The new single from Brettina Lorena Robinson "Spell" was released last week (3 Jun) along with a Reel People Remix which takes the smooth soul/jazz track into clubland territory.

This week (10 Jun) an Extended Version is released which lengthens the original (3:52) by a whole 35 seconds to 4:27. Will anyone be able to tell the difference as all I can detect that they have done is extend the outro? But take your pick.

Brettina from L.A. (via The Bahamas) featured her in Feb with Incognito on various remixes of "Simple Pleasures".
