Jessica Childress [2022] - Questions [Self Released] (Full EP)

Jessica Childress is a singer, songwriter, pianist and composer from L.A. who appeared in The Voice Season 4 (2013) and was mentored by Usher.

Since then she's opened for Charles Bradley, The Family Stone, Patti LaBelle and Allen Stone.

She released her debut album "Days" in 2018 from which the first single was "Far Away" followed by "Run".

Her latest release is a four track EP "Questions" released today (18 Mar 2022) which she wrote during lockdown as a result of a breakup and subsequent therapy and healing.

Qiana Miles [2022] - New Wave [Self Released] (Full EP)

Qiana Miles is from Dayton, OH, now residing in Orlando, FL, who debuted exactly a year ago on 19 Mar 2021 with a single "Without You" which she followed with a Christmas standard "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas".  Her debut EP "New Wave" was released yesterday (18 Mar 2022) which includes her debit single.

The best track is probably "INeedYouHere" which uses elements of the Thom Bell and Linda Creed classic "You Are Everything" first recorded in 1971 by The Stylistics but of course done by many others since.

Mario Biondi [2022] - Romantic [Beyond Srl] (Full Album)

Two tracks from the latest Marion Biondi album, "Romantic" have already been released in recent weeks with luke warm reception, an original song "Romantic Song" and a cover of Lou Rawls "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine".

The full album was released yesterday (18 Mar 2022) and of the fifteen tracks, eight are covers:

"The Creator Has A Master Plan" (Leon Thomas 1971), 

"Going Out Of My Head" (Bacharach & David standard first released by Little Anthony & The Imperials 1964)

"You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" (Lou Rawls 1976) ,

"What's Your Name" (Leon Ware 1979),

"What's Going On" (Marvin Gaye 1971),

"Papa You’ll Loves Mambo" ( Perry Como 1954),

"Would You Believe In Me" (Jon Lucien 1973),

"Take It As It Comes" (an version in English of Lucio Battisti's "Take It Like This" 1978).

In fact there is a ninth cover as " Tu Malatia" was written by his father Stefano and recorded in 1982 by Franco Morgia.

The album launches a European tour commencing on 30 Mar 2022.

The Jack Moves [2022] - Somebody's Watching You [Everloving, Inc]

The new single from The Jack Moves "Somebody's Watching You" (18 Mar 2022) sounds to me like it may be using a sample from Keni Burke's "Risin' To The Top" (1982)?

The Jack Moves are Teddy Powell and Zee Desmondes from Newark, NJ, who debuted in 2002 with a vinyl only single "Kiss In The Dark" / "A Fool For You" (a cover of Chicago group The Ledgends which has featured on the blog in 2020). 

Their acclaimed debut, self-titled, album arrived on Wax Poetics in 2015 followed by "Free Money" in 2018.
