The new single from Yvonne J with Dave Howard (guitar) & Johnathan "JC" Smith (keys and producer), "Smile", was played on Saturday by Andy Tee on the UK Soul Chart Breakers  show and was due for release on  Monday (14 Feb 2022) but doesn't appear to be available on Amazon (yet) for some strange reason but is now available on Spotify and is on Apple and Deezer. Yvonne posted a video for it on her YouTube channel yesterday.

Yvonne J (Jay) is Yvonne W Jenkins who is originally from Dundee but now resides in Fort Worth, TX.

You can buy the single direct from Yvonne's website as it may be streaming only as it's not on Amazon.

Kerbside Collection [2022] - Round The Corner [Légère Recordings] (Full Album)

Kerbside Collection are, in their words, a "down-under’ dusty jazzfunk and gritty rare grooves ensemble" from Brisbane. They released the title track "Round The Corner" on 21 Jan from their forthcoming album due out tomorrow (18 Feb 2022) which at present is only available on Bandcamp. "Glaze" also got released as a single in Nov 2021.

It will be their fourth studio album, although all three previous albums have been remixed and re-released. It's an instrumental album with some nice jazz / funk style grooves.

Kubla [2022] - Move On [Self Released]

Kubla is Canadian singer Kiaran McMillan from Ontario (his stage name came from the Samuel Taylor Coleridge poem 'Kublah Khan', the first two lines of which were used by Frankie Goes To Hollywood in "Welcome To The Pleasuredome" in 1984).

He's released his fifth single since 2019, "Move On", on 29 Jan 2022.

uruwashi [2022] - One Time [FRIENDSHIP.]

After the last post (Jazz Mafia) this is halfway house as it's neo soul with jazz flavours from Japanese beat maker uruwashi (Masaomi Kawamura) with a new single released 9 Feb 2022 "One Time". 

It sounded OK from the sample but gets a bit monotonous in full (to me) as it's essentially an instrumental with a few chants of 'one time', but perhaps you'll like it?

Jazz Mafia [2022] - Snack Food [JM Collective Recordings]

Jazz Mafia is a San Francisco based collective led and co-founded by trombonist Adam Theis in 2000.

Their latest single (15 Feb 2022) is "Snack Food" which is a bit different, there's jazz, funk and hip-hop all in there, and a change as there's only so many wispy, neo soul tunes I can listen to in one sitting before they all start sounding the same! .
