Juliette Farrell [2022] - Ocean Eyes [Daisy Records]

Juliette Farrell is a singer/songwriter from Birmingham (UK). She started her professional singing career at the age of 19 as a session singer for a local rock band in Lichfield, West Midlands

Her first solo album "Unconditional" was released in 2005 and a single from it, a cover of Teddy Pendergrass and Stephanie Mills "Two Hearts" (which she recorded as Juliette Leon with US Soul Singer Myron), was picked up by Freestyle records for vinyl  release.

Juliette also sang with Birmingham Community Gospel Choir for several years and formed the trio Chos3n with two local singers at the same time as her own solo endeavours.

She was introduced to producer Herb Middleton who signed her to his label and completed an album "Key's of Love" in 2012 with a single "Love Me and My Hair" being released from it. The video for the song won an MVSA award at the Black International film Festival in Birmingham UK.

In 2015 Juliette was nominated for a MOBO award singing as one third of her gospel trio Chos3n on their album "We Are Chos3n" on Daisy Records, and in the same year went on to win the Urban Music awards held in Kensington London

At the same time as penning the Chos3n album she was working on a second solo album "9 Fruits" which was released in Nov 2016, from which a single "Brand New" was released. An  EP "Heaven Mentality" followed in 2019.

Her latest offering is a ballad "Ocean Eyes" due for release 4 Feb 2022.

Mushroom Mosis [2022] - Clear the Air [Self Released]

Mushroom Mosis is Damani Leidsman who was raised between the Netherlands and Suriname. He released an eponymous six track debut EP  in 2016.

His new single "Clear The Air" released today (20 Jan 2022) is only his third release since then.

VA [2022] - Lowriders Sweet Soul Harmony From The Golden Era [Kent #522] (Full Album)

Ace/Kent are releasing a vinyl compilation of fourteen lowrider tunes that have been previously released on the two volumes of "This Is Lowrider Soul" titled "Lowriders Sweet Soul Harmony From The Golden Era".

Several tracks were previously unreleased until they appeared on CD and a couple have subsequently been released on vinyl sevens by Sean Hampsey's excellent Diggin' Deep label in the last few years.

If you are not familiar with the term  Lowrider Soul, then I did a quick overview a while ago. A Brief Intro to Lowrider Soul. In short, it's an evolution of doo-wop where the Chicano community of East L.A. cruise around (often on the famed Whittier Boulevard) in vintage cars playing sweet soul harmony style oldies from (mainly) the 60s & 70s and mainly, but not always, by groups (i.e. hence the harmony element).

The album is available to pre-order from Ace/Kent or from other good vinyl outlets such a SimplySoul with a release date given of 25 Feb 2022.

Electric Spank [2022] - Let Me Go [Electric Spank]

Seven piece blue-eyed soul/funk outfit from Exeter (UK) Electric Spank release, what appears to be, their debut single "Let Me Go" on 14 Jan 2022. They do have more music on their Soundcloud but I can't find anything else that's been released although they have been performing live for several years and have supported many artists.
