I first spotted this single on Christmas eve but, like many releases, it still hasn't appeared on Spotify, therefore, for now at least, I've embedded it from YouTube. "The Bell Tolls for You" was released on 24 Dec 2021 by J.D. Wesley (John Wesley Wilson Jr.) who is a member of the 90s group SOLO as well as being a actor using the stage name John David Wesley  (IMDB).

It's a deep and powerful song about social justice.

Miz Ricks [2021] - Penny for My Thoughts [Self Released]

This would seem to be a debut release from South African singer/songwriter (Karobo) Miz Ricks (originally from Soweto now living in Johannesburg). However it is by no means a new song as she has "Penny For My Thoughts" posted on her Soundcloud from seven years ago. I also found an live video of her performing the song from 2015 on one of her YouTube channels. It's jazzy neo soul right in the Erykah Badu mould.

She has also bundled in another self-written song "Love You More".

Tarrey Torae [2021] - If Love Was [Word & Soul]

Tarrey Torae's last single in Sep 2021 "In Time" reached the top of the UK soul charts and was a SoulStrutter Selection of the Week on release. 

She has released a new single "If Love Was" on Christmas day which most likely passed most by. Perhaps not quite as 'instant' as her last single but oozes quality all the same.

I noticed that she posted a video of "In Time" on her YouTube channel at the end of October which has not been previously posted, so it's here to remind you of her last single.

Jae Via [2021] - T.I.L.T. [Self Released] (Full EP)

"T.I.L.T." appears to be a debut from Jae Via. which was released on 22 Dec 2021. All five tracks on the EP were written by Jaelyn White, so I 'assume' that may be her real name.

The EP has a leaning towards R&B, with the two best tracks being "Cycle Of Girls" and "Neighbors" which is yet another song which uses 'that' sample.
