Dei ! [2021] - A.I.K [Self Released] (Full Album)

Dei ! (Deidra LaNece Jones) is a new artist from Chambersburg, PA who released a debut album/EP "A.I.K" yesterday (3 Dec 2021). It's edgy neo soul/R&B of all original self-written material. I like it because it is different and stands out from the very samey stuff that gets churned out.

The standout track is "7 Minutes In Heaven" (featured in 'The Bleeding Edge' playlist yesterday) with honourable mentions for "Moment" and "All I Know". The whole EP is very listenable if you're open minded.

The latest single from Mary J. Blige "Good Morning Gorgeous" was released yesterday along with a promo video. 

Another single was also released "Amazing" featuring DJ Khaled (not suitable for this blog) which suggests that perhaps a new album is in the pipeline (?), which would be her first set of new material since 2017.

It's quite hard to believe that she debuted almost 30 years ago in 1992 with "What's The 411?"

Dad Junior [2021] - Dorthy [Self Released] (Full Album)

This new album 'Dorthy" by Dad Junior consists mainly of beats but a couple of tracks did stand out "Memory" and  "Why Man" were included in this week's 'The Bleeding Edge' playlist but also "Don't Give A F*ck" has 'something'.

I would guess that Dad Junior is Patrick O'Neal Nagel who's name is on all writing credits. He's from Portland, OR, and according to his facebook page this is his seventh album since 2015.
