Yakul are a four piece band based in Brighton, UK, who have been around since 2017. Today (220 Oct 2021) they released their debut album "Rise Again".

With fourteen tracks to wade through I've not yet settled on the standouts.

Jazzy Beats & Joyce Nuhill [2021] - Freak Out [Self Released]

Released today (22 Oct 2021) is what appears to be the only release by Jazzy Beats & Joyce Nuhill titled "Freak Out".

I can find nothing about Jazzy Beats and assume that he/she is a producer, but Joyce Nuhill was raised in Germany to Italian/Jamaican parents and has released two previous singles both this year..

The song was written by Jonathan Yorke Brown (Jazzy Beats?) and Joyce-Lynn Lella (Joyce Nuhill?).

Larayne [2021] - Shell Shocked (Remix) [Self Released]

Last week (13 Oct 2021) Larayne, from Jersey City, NJ, released a remix of her 2018 song "Shell Shocked" which, for me, is a big improvement of the R&B tune as it's been given an uplift in tempo by 20% and a bassline with a discernible rhythm which is lacking is so many R&B tunes. I've included the original so you can see the 'improvement'!

The remix features Divine Thomas and Jordan Cleare who recently died owing to Covid.

Tai Harlii [2021] - Absinthe [Self Released]

Tai Harlii is a relatively new artist from Hobart, Australia. Another artist I can find nothing more about but after some sleuthing around the writing credits I would guess that her real name is Jamie Hanna Karoliina Taylor as that's who's credited with writing both singles she has released. The debut was "NRG" in Nov 2019 followed by the latest "Absinthe" released on 19 Oct 2021.

Luke Burr [2021] - 4am [frtyfve] (Full EP)

Essex boy Like Burr shot to fame in 2019 when a YouTube video of  a cover of Bobby Caldwell's "What You Won't Do For Love" went viral. He featured here in April with a three track EP "Let You Down". Today (22 Oct 2021) he's released another which consists of six tracks, however two tracks are live versions of two of the others. Three of the tracks already appeared on the April EP, so there is only one new song "Lonely".

On the live recording of "4am" he features a different female vocalist Meron Addis in place of Olivia Nelson who was on the original version, videos of both versions below. . The new EP also includes a live version of "Let You Down".
