Stazia [2021] - Elevated [Global Exec Records] (Full Album)

Stazia (aka Anesthatia Robinson) is from Cleveland, OH and began her career with The Unit Band aka The Unit eXperience Project whose EP "Not For Long" was featured here in May.

To date she's release four singles, the latest three appear on her debut album "Elevated" released today (13 Aug 2021). The other single, released in 2020, is "Both Of Us" a mellow ballad which I've included the video for below as there are no others available.  Stazia had a hand in writing all the songs on the album.

The standout track is "I Choose You" which has already been released as a single on 4 Jun 2021, but there are a few other pleasant mellow tracks.

Ny'aira [2021] - Tyme [Royal Court Records]

Ny'aira (Collins) was born in Aurora, OH and raised in Detroit and L.A. She debuted in 2013 with a dance track "Dance Like That" and re-emerged in 2017 with a single "Woosah (Breathe)"

Her latest single "Tyme" is released today and it's a 'grower', a pleasant neo soul / stepper. She has a very pleasing tone to her voice.

Luna Elle [2021] - Flaws [Hot Freestyle Records]

Luna Elle is a new 16 yr old artist from Mississauga, Ontario (you guessed it, it's in greater Toronto, so yet another artist from there!). "Flaws" is her third single, all released this year, which was delivered yesterday (11 Aug 2021).

"True Love" was her debut released on 26 May followed by "Serious" a month later on 23 Jun. All are soulful ballads which belie her age. On the basis of these three singles I think she is definitely one to watch. 

"True Love" is an incredible debut! I've included all three singles, with videos of the first two, below.

Nico Bryant [2021] - Forever Feelings [Masterpiece Records] (Full Album)

Nico Bryant (from Claymont, DE) released a new album today "Forever Feelings" with many of the tracks having a 90's throwback feel. It's his second album which follows "The Journey" released in 2019 along with around twenty odd singles. The last three singles, all released this year, appear on the album "Backslide", "Dance Wit Me" and  "Sunset".

There are quite a few good tracks on the album, on first scan through my favourites being "Feel The Love" (interrupted by rap!), "Naked", "All Mine" and "Baby Girl", but with fifteen tracks I haven't had the chance to listen to them all properly yet.

Holybrune Feat. Dabeull [2021] - Joyride [Dabeull Records] (Full EP)

Holybrune (aka Laura Chaudet) featuring Dabeull (aka David Saïd) "Catching Feelings" was released as a single on 2 Jul and also appears on a four track EP called "Joyride" released 16 Jul 2021.

Dabeull is a Paris based producer as is, I presume, Holybrune whose tag on facebook is "Darker than your darkest girlfriend" .. and also on her twitter "All girls are dark at night" what could she possibly mean by that?

"Catching Feelings" is, well a  'catchy', throwback sound, which some may find a bit poppy, but against some of the dire stuff I've endured this week stands out from the mire.

"Joyride" is in a similar vein with a more obvious nod to the 80s with a funky bassline. On listening again to the full EP "A Song To Send Your Sadness Away" has grown on me, it's a jazz flavoured, breathy ballad/stepper. The final track "Comme Avant" is sung in French (translates to "Like Before") is an 80s influenced pop tune (to me).

Dabeull is obviously heavily influenced by the 80s because as I was posting this a 30 minute mix of his came up next on YT of all predominantly late 70s/80s, very yacht soul oriented. It is very well, mixed - 42 tracks in 30 minutes - excellent in fact!
